This event is designed to bring forth the creative talents of the Mas designers and costume makers to express and present their artistic skills in a new environment where their works will be recognized and awarded.
They will be required to produce and present their frontline costume creations to live audiences and be rewarded with prizes
The experienced and upcoming designers in the industry will have the opportunity to grace the stage with these fabulous costumes be recognized and nurtured in the development of their skills to new audiences at Carnival City which will improve the viability and economic value of the industry.
The pieces receiving top honors will then be exhibited throughout the year at various sponsored locations and events throughout Canada, thus sustaining the development of the cultural arts.
NORTH KINGS & QUEENS
Creative designers and cultural artistic talents have struggled for recognition and just rewards annually. Their passion for the arts locally, regionally, and internationally have produced some amazing costumes that temporarily adorn the stage and seemingly disappear after weeks of work in a labor of love.
Mas Factor is a House of Culture initiative designed to provide a platform for creative engineers in Carnival Arts to awaken their spirits and adorn the stages with their intriguing presentations.
The intricacies and vibrancy of these cultural expressions will transport you into a world of innovation, creativity and artistry.
This King, Queen and Individual costume competition will present larger than life costumes that invokes the combination of pageantry, storytelling and creative engineering bringing forth the tradition of dynamic and colorful costumes
Designers and Mas Makers are invited to fine tune their 2022 presentations or create new designs for presentation. Showcase their multi-discipline creative skills in molding, wire bending, welding, carving and papier mache etc,. Wow the audience with their performances be recognized and rewarded.
